Management Team

Stephen joined PMB Defence in 2010 and has accumulated over 15 years’ experience in the Defence industry since leaving the international accounting firm, Deloitte in 1997.  At Vision Systems he was Financial Controller for the Defence and Security Divisions, ultimately assisting in the sale of the Defence businesses to Tenix in 2000.  At Tenix Defence Stephen was involved in a broad range of Divisions, including Electronic Systems, LADS, Land and RLM.  In 2005 Stephen moved into a global role with Saab Systems where he took finance responsibility for the Naval Systems Division of Saab AB with operations on several continents.  In addition he retained Chief Financial Officer responsibility for all Australian operations.  The focus at PMB Defence has been continued supply of high quality product and services to Defence whilst broadening PMB’s offering with significant investment in both people and product development.
Nick commenced with PMB Defence in 2009 and has over 20 years’ experience in various senior financial executive roles.  He holds a Bachelor in Economics from Adelaide University and has been a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants since 1989.

Nick’s career formative years were spent with international accounting firm, Deloitte.  In 1992 he joined BTR Nylex as Financial Controller for the Automotive Plastics and Trim Division with financial responsibility for several sites in both SA and Victoria.  This Division’s main focus was the supply of automotive components to Holden, Ford, MMAL and Toyota.  In 2003 Nick moved to Detmold Packaging, a global supplier of paper packaging products, with his initial role as Commercial Manager for Australian and New Zealand operations.  He later moved into a Global Corporate Finance role with Detmold encompassing full responsibility for the Group’s Global Financial Risk Management, Treasury and Insurance Programs.
Peter holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the South Australian Institute of Technology and Master of Engineering Science degree from the University of Adelaide.  Peter is the Engineering Manager for PMB Defence Engineering and has spent the majority of his career within the Australian Defence industry, starting as a cadet engineer at DSTO in 1981.  He joined ASC in 1988, working in Sweden and Adelaide on the design and construction of the COLLINS Class submarines as Mechanical Systems Manager.  In 1996 he joined Vision-Abell (now BAE Systems – Land & Integrated Systems) and has led a number of development projects for Defence and with Codan Ltd, high-end commercial electronics and microwave applications.  Immediately prior to joining PMB in 2006 Peter worked with Raytheon Australia as Combat System Segment Manager for the Air Warfare Destroyer project.
John Parkin is the PMB Defence Batteries Operations Manager and is responsible for all aspects of contract and product delivery, new contracts, customer support, service and manufacturing procurement.  These responsibilities extend to relationships with all Commonwealth agencies and ASC.

Before moving to Industry, John was an officer in the Royal Australia Navy where, as a Seaman Specialist, he served in Aircraft Carriers, Destroyers, Frigates and Patrol Boats.  He qualified as a Principle Warfare Officer with sub-specialisations in Communications and Electronic Warfare.  Having had both sea and shore command positions, he left the Navy in 2003 as a Commander.

During the past nine years, Mr Parkin has been employed in the Defence and Resources industries, working in Program and Contract management roles with General Dynamics Land Systems (Australia), SANTOS (Oil and Gas) and now PMB Defence.
David is a Chemical Engineer with 25 years of experience in the resources and manufacturing sectors, holding engineering and production management roles in SME and blue chip companies including BHP, Pacific Dunlop Batteries, and Faulding Pharmaceuticals.

David has a wealth of experience in managing manufacturing operations to achieve stringent quality, safety, and productivity standards and has managed the Production operations for PMB Defence Batteries since mid-2009.
