Production Worker – Multiple Vacancies

PMB Defence has multiple Production Worker vacancies available for an immediate start. The successful applicants will be working with a world leader manufacturer of submarine battery systems, in our brand new state of the art facility in Osborne. You must have previous experience in a production / manufacturing role. There are opportunities for overtime as well as occasional weekend work. Your duties will include

  • Manufacturing products to exceptional standards
  • Interpret instructions and work with SOPs
  • General housekeeping activities
  • Production / process duties
  • Work to a high WHS standard

What do you need to be successful?

  • Have previous experience in a similar production/manufacturing position
  • Ability to be available for shift work, therefore those with their own transport or ability to reliably get to the premises should apply
  • Be an Australia Citizen and be South Australia based
  • Hold a current police clearance from the past 6 months or be willing to obtain one
  • Be comfortable undertaking regular Lead in Blood testing
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment medical with a Drug and Alcohol screen

Logistics Support Officer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Logistics Support Officer to join our Commercial and Business Support team. The Logistics Support Officer plays a crucial role in supporting team members and meeting the logistic demands of PMB Defence customers, contributing to the company’s growth and success in the Defence Sector.

Reporting to the Customer Support and Delivery Lead, this role is a multi-faceted position and includes ensuring compliance with various Defence protocols, such as procurement, supply support, stores accounting, warehousing distribution, codification and cataloguing. The key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the development and implementation of logistic policy and process changes in accordance with our defence customers’ requirements.
  • Monitoring and leading logistics inventory management through the use inventory managements system such as MILIS/SAP.
  • Leading compliance and assurance activities on customers inventory and asset holdings and practices utilising mandated procedures and reports.
  • Monitoring and reporting to PMB Management on the progress of procedure implementation.
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders as required to provide the services listed in the introduction.
  • Being the first PMB POC for ADF logistic/stores practitioners at a Unit level.
  • Being the PMB MILIS/SAP expert, implementing procedures and training and sharing expertise with others.
  • Primary responsibility for the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of data and data entry, relating to Commonwealth owned CCSM MSB inventory.
  • Becoming proficient as an operator of PMB’s Inventory Management system.
  • Assist the Sales Co-ordinator and Customer Support Delivery Lead as required.
  • Liaise with Store personnel as required to implement Defence logistics requirements.
  • Other projects and tasks as requested by PMB Management

The successful candidate will have: 

  • Proven experience in a logistics role
  • Prior ADF logistic service/management experience is desirable.
  • DPN/DSN knowledge
  • Significant MILIS/SAP experience is essential.
  • A strong understanding of all aspects of Defence inventory management
  • Strong communication skills and excellent stakeholder engagement
  • Competent skills in Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to use own initiative and find the solution when one is not presented.
  • Great attention to detail, reliability and flexibility and the ability to “follow-up”

 Pre-requisites

  • Be eligible to successfully obtain and maintain a NV1 Australian Defence Security Clearance (must be an Australian Citizen)
  • Hold a current police clearance and driver’s licence.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and Drug & Alcohol screen.
  • Ability to travel occasionally interstate and overseas for work and training purposes.

Procurement Administrator

About the role

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the role will be responsible for providing administrative support to procurement services and to manufacturing projects, with some technical procurement, developing and implementing appropriate procurement methodologies and assisting with managing inventory, tendering, and ordering activities.

This is an excellent opportunity if you have an interest in procurement and are looking to kickstart your career in the defence sector with an Adelaide-based business. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing support for the procurement elements from request for quote through to invoice management.
  • Liaise with suppliers, regarding open purchase orders, ensuring parts are delivered on time.
  • Proactively manage the performance of suppliers and provide input into supplier scorecards (includes risk and cross project opportunities).

Procurement

  • Contribute towards the ongoing development and maintenance of procurement policies and procedures.
  • Review and evaluate supplier quotes to ensure value for money.
  • Maintain accurate Supplier contact details within business tools.
  • Support in the establishment of supplier Agreements.

Purchasing

  • Assist with the preparation of orders for all goods, materials, or services.
  • Effectively administer purchase orders.
  • Assisting Finance with receipting of items in the system for on time payments.

Logistics coordination

  • Assist with all transport and logistics coordination for all incoming and outgoing goods at PMB.
  • Monitor import / export requirements and provide documentation as required.

Supplier Management

  • Ensure adherence to any existing and newly created supplier agreements, including payments, claims, warranties, and flow down of any head contract amendments and terms.
  • Support PMB stakeholders with Supplier engagement (NCR management).
  • Proactively monitor the performance of suppliers, from cost, schedule, and quality.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in a purchasing/procurement role.
  • Demonstrable experience in a corporate or defence environment.
  • Strong administrative and time management skills.
  • A good knowledge of strategic business practices.
  • An understanding of “good value.”
  • The capability to prioritise competing demands, ensuring attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • The ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • A flair for negotiation and supplier relationship management.
  • A strong team focus.
  • Competent skills in MS-Word, MS-Excel, and MS-PowerPoint.
  • The ability to maintain high degree of confidentiality and use your own initiative.
  • Great “follow-up skills” and be flexible, reliable and a quick learner.

Pre-requisites

  • Be eligible to successfully obtain and maintain a NV1 Australian Defence Security Clearance (must be an Australian Citizen).
  • Ability to obtain a police clearance.

  • Undertake six monthly lead in blood testing.
