Mechanical Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive Mechanical Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team on the design of the mechanical elements for a new technology battery system, from concept through to manufacture and installation. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Mechanical engineering design and development for PMB’s new technology main storage battery systems
  • Designing mechanical and structural sub-systems in Autodesk Inventor and producing drawings and Bill of Materials (BOM) for manufacture
  • Liaising with suppliers and PMB’s internal workshop to facilitate the manufacture of prototypes and test equipment
  • Assembly of prototypes and test equipment
  • Planning, coordinating and conducting testing including dynamic impact and thermal tests
  • Preparing technical reports such as design documentation, test procedures and test reports
  • Providing expertise and advice as required to the engineering and production departments in support of existing contracts

The successful candidate will have:

  • Several years experience in a similar role
  • Experience in design and product development, with skills in mechanical and thermal design
  • Proficiency with the use of CAD tools for 3D design modelling and preparing manufacturing drawings
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Systems engineering processes and techniques
  • Previous experience with testing techniques and equipment including the use of strain gauges, accelerometers and thermocouples (desirable)
  • Experience with processing test data using python or a similar programming language (desirable)
  • Experience in design for naval/defence engineering, heavy industries or battery systems (desirable)
  • Experience in submarine engineering or battery pack design (desirable)
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems in a logical and methodical manner
  • Ability to read an interpret applicable Australian and industry standards
  • Enjoying working as part of a supportive team to meet team objectives
  • Proactivity and willingness to be flexible and adaptable

Prerequisites

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline (Mechatronic, Aerospace, Automotive or similar)

  • The ability to obtain an NV1 Australian Defence Security clearance (essential), or hold an existing clearance (desirable)

Electronic/Software Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive Electronic/Software Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team developing new technology battery systems.  You will support the team through design of Electronic elements and development of software tools for system testing and data analysis of the new technology battery systems. The role involves you exercising and building on your diverse range of skills for which key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting data analysis of battery performance data using in-house software tools and generating written reports of results
  • Modelling of battery systems using Matlab/Simulink or alternatives
  • Design of elements of battery management systems
  • Design of dc-dc converters
  • Technical review of reports and engineering work as part of the internal review/approval process, of work spanning a number of engineering disciplines
  • Developing scripts for testing equipment
  • Testing and reporting of prototype tests and evaluations
  • Designing, developing and verifying allocated aspects for new products, processes and improvements to existing products
  • Commissioning of new electrical equipment
  • Conducting battery test program

The successful candidate will have:

  • Several years’ experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience in, electrical and electronic systems
  • Fault finding skills for electrical systems
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Systems engineering processes and techniques
  • Experience with product development (end to end) and design and/or engineering research
  • Knowledge of power electronics and DC electrical system design and testing
  • Experience with battery systems and associated battery testing equipment (desirable)
  • Knowledge and experience in embedded programming, (C, Python or similar languages), FPGA design tools, modelling and software engineering processes)
  • Knowledge and experience in design of embedded electronics hardware

Systems / Test Engineer

About the role

Accounts Administration Officer

About the role

Due to business growth, a permanent full time opportunity has become available for an Accounts Administration Officer to join our team. Reporting to the Senior Accounts Administrator, key responsibilities will include:

  • End to end accounts payable responsibilities, including receiving, processing, verifying and reconciling invoices;
  • Managing the petty cash float and ensuring all petty cash expenditure is coded and entered correctly;
  • Accurately entering time sheets for staff into the payroll system, ensuring correct coding;
  • Reconciling company credit card statements and following up outstanding statements and tax invoices from managers and card holders;
  • Providing back up to reception and other ad hoc administration tasks.

Skills and Experience

We are seeking candidates with previous experience in a similar role with end to end accounts payable experience. Exposure to working with an integrated ERP system in a manufacturing or defence environment is desirable. The successful candidate will have excellent time management skills and the capability to prioritise competing demands, ensuring excellent attention to detail. The ability to work in a fast paced environment is essential, as are high level communication skills, initiative a strong team focus.

Accounting Manager

About the role

Due to business growth, a permanent full time opportunity has become available for a senior finance professional to join our team. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the role of the Accounting Manager is to provide all management and statutory reporting for the group, oversee core AP and Payroll functions and to manage the internal process and financial risk management functions for the organisation. This is a great opportunity for career growth where you would also be the 2IC to the CFO and act as delegate of the CFO in their absence.

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the preparation of timely, accurate and high-quality financial reporting;
  • Managing accounting operations including creditors, debtors, cash control, maintenance of general ledger and preparation of monthly management reports;
  • Preparing and reviewing the annual group budget for the CFO;
  • Ensuring the effective use of current systems, including reviewing and updating systems to improve efficiency and developing new management information systems;
  • Providing assurance services on all important aspects of risk management strategies and practices, management control frameworks and practices, and information used for decision-making and reporting;
  • Provide pricing support and modelling to bid leads – engineering projects and product tenders.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

We are seeking applications from experienced tertiary qualified finance professionals with proven and successful experience in a similar role, ideally in a corporate accounting or manufacturing environment with exposure to external regulatory reporting requirements.  Previous recent experience in a global, geographically dispersed business is desirable.  The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience and expertise in financial planning and analysis, providing specialist advice on financial reporting and treasury matters and provide a consultative point of contact for business stakeholders.
