Production Worker – Multiple Vacancies
PMB Defence has multiple Production Worker vacancies available for an immediate start. The successful applicants will be working with a world leader manufacturer of submarine battery systems, in our brand new state of the art facility in Osborne. You must have previous experience in a production / manufacturing role. There are opportunities for overtime as well as occasional weekend work. Your duties will include
- Manufacturing products to exceptional standards
- Interpret instructions and work with SOPs
- General housekeeping activities
- Production / process duties

What do you need to be successful?
- Have previous experience in a similar production/manufacturing position
- Ability to be available for shift work, therefore those with their own transport or ability to reliably get to the premises should apply
- Be an Australia Citizen and be South Australia based
- Hold a current police clearance from the past 6 months or be willing to obtain one
- Be comfortable undertaking regular Lead in Blood testing
- Successfully pass a pre-employment medical with a Drug and Alcohol screen

About the role
We are seeking a Quality Control Officer to join our team, reporting directly to the Quality & Compliance Manager. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the quality of our manufactured products, including inspecting incoming materials and monitoring production quality data. Additionally, you will be involved in the maintenance and development of documentation related to our Integrated Management System.

As a Quality Control Officer, your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting timely inspections of incoming items and raw materials to ensure they meet product specifications and maintain integrity.
- Preparing quality-related documentation, including quality awareness sheets, product acceptance standards, work instructions, and investigation reports.
- Providing feedback to suppliers on any non-conformances identified with incoming items and generating 8D reports.
- Monitoring critical data from production processes to ensure consistency and compliance with material specifications.
- Assisting with New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives as needed.
- Performing internal audits and inspections of production processes to ensure adherence to written procedures and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Developing and executing daily production inspections to ensure products meet established quality standards.
- Supporting the tracking and resolution of non-conformance reports by conducting root cause analysis and implementing appropriate preventive and corrective actions.
- Maintaining the calibration of inspection equipment through collaboration with external calibration agencies and performing some in-house calibrations, while preparing equipment calibration reports.
- Participating in workplace improvement activities, such as Gemba walks and safety inspections.
- Conducting final inspections of completed dry cells before they are released for sale or shipping.
- Carrying out QHSE-related tasks as assigned by the Quality & Compliance Manager.
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- Previous experience in a quality-related role, including inspection, testing, and quality processes.
- Experience as an internal auditor.
- Knowledge and experience with the ISO 9001 quality management system.
- Proficient computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and material specifications.
- Competence in interpreting and analyzing tabulated and graphical data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and logical thinking abilities.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- A strong focus on teamwork.
Pre-requisites
- Be eligible to successfully obtain and maintain a NV1 Australian Defence Security Clearance (must be an Australian Citizen).
- Hold a current police clearance and driver’s licence.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and Drug & Alcohol screen.
- Undertake six monthly lead in blood testing.

Senior Electrical/Electronic Engineer – New Technologies

About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive Senior Electrical/Electronic Engineer to join our growing, multi-disciplinary team. This Senior Electrical/Electronic Engineer is responsible for design, development and verification of allocated aspects for new products, processes and improvements to existing products and provision of expertise as required in support of the existing products.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Work within project teams to provide planning and system engineering support.
- Support research and development activities in conjunction with customer and R&D partners.
- Providing electrical product design and test domain expertise in support of development projects.
- Development of product concepts into draft designs through to product realisation.
- Testing and evaluation of prototypes.
- Preparing products for manufacture including teaming with sub-contractors and production teams to develop manufacturing processes.
- Supporting product trials both on-site and on-board submarines and other platforms.
The successful candidate will have:
- Recognised tertiary qualifications in Electrical and/or Electronic Engineering
- Eligibility for or have Chartered Engineering status with Engineers Australia
- Demonstrated experience in design and testing of electrical and electronic systems.
- Experience in the development of products and systems across the full product life-cycle.
- Experience in power electronics and/or power supply design and testing.
- Demonstrated programming using C, Python 3.x or similar.
- Experience in V&V activities and compliance testing against IEC, EN or defence standards; and
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
Prerequisites
The successful candidate will be required to:
- Be eligible to successfully obtain and maintain a NV1 Australian Defence Security Clearance (must be an Australian Citizen)
- Successfully pass a pre-employment medical and Drug & Alcohol screen

About the role
To support the next phase of the PMB Defence journey, an opportunity now exists for an experienced IT Helpdesk Support person to be part of our family. Operating within a small IT team, this role will support the wider business and is responsible for customer contact, Level 1, and Level 2 issue resolution, and performing tasks at the direction of the Systems Administrator and IT Manager.
This is an excellent opportunity to further your IT career in the defence sector with an Adelaide-based business.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Responding to queries via chat, email, or phone.
- Entering incident / issues into ticketing system.
- Continually updating tickets and registries. Ensuring SLAs are met.
- Compliant with Essential 8 and Cyber Essential Plus.
- Training other staff members in troubleshooting and diagnosing problems.
- Providing technical assistance for questions and problems where appropriate and escalating tickets where necessary.
- Resolving problems with networks and other computer systems.
- Diagnosing system errors and other issues.
- Following up with customers to ensure full resolution of issues.
- Running reports to analyse common complaints and problems.
- Installing or changing software to fix issues.
- Remotely accessing hardware or software for clients to make changes and fix problems.
- Review and update documentation for policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
- Support the development and delivery of security awareness training programs for employees.
- Monitor security logs and alerts to identify potential security incidents and report them to the appropriate team members.
- Research and evaluate applications and services for use by the organisation.
- Provide a matrix when possible, detailing features within each different application or service.
- Assistance with the deployment and upkeep of the workstations’ security and infrastructure.
- Assist with vulnerability assessments and penetration testing for specific applications, services, networks, and servers as required.
- Assist with application/tools including but not limited to Active Directory, Office 365, SIEM, IPS, SDP, e-mail gateway protection, and DLP tools.
- Record and track IT security incidents, including but not limited to copyright violations, compromised accounts, e-mail threats, and abuse reports from various sources.
- Analysing and resolving technical and application problems.
- Actively participate in design meetings with the development team.
- Other duties as assigned.
The successful candidate will have:
- Tertiary qualifications, i.e., Bachelor of Information Technology is highly desirable. Along with experience in Microsoft Windows Server Fundamentals.
- Proven experience in an IT Helpdesk role is essential. Ideally within a defence or corporate environment.
